Summer Happenings Theme: Pic #4
An (almost) annual summer event for our church family is the July biking social. This year the location was London, Ontario on some very nice paved trails following the Thames River. And we couldn't have asked for a nicer afternoon weather-wise.

Summer Happenings Theme: Pic #3
One of my favorite parts of summer (I have lots of them) is harvesting garden produce. When I brought in this mess of greens and set it in the kitchen sink for washing, it looked like I had arranged a bouquet: the green onion stalks were the flower stems and the lettuce and spinach leaves were the blooms.

Summer Happenings Theme: Pic #2
A week ago...we were privileged to attend a wedding! The ceremony was held outdoors on a perfect summer evening, at the home of the bride. What a gorgeous setting it was with the beautiful lawns and flower arrangements as well as wheat fields surrounding in golden splendor. Here is a pic of the newly-married couple - Trent & Amber Martin - in the reception tent at dusk.

Week #22 Theme: Summer Happenings
Water Colors (or Water Coolers) is a great game to play outside on a hot summer day. One team decides on a color, and the members of the other team take turns guessing what the color is. When someone guesses correctly, the opposite team quickly tries to pour water from their cups onto the feet of the person across from them. Lots of shrieking ensues, if it's anything like the game pictured above. Note: If you decide to try this game, see if you can keep it from developing into an all-out water fight!

Flowers 2 Theme: Pic #7
Need some cheerin' up? Strolling among flowers such as this one may well be what it takes to brighten your day. I don't know what kind of bloom it was, but it smiled up at me when I walked by. Its home is one of the gorgeous flowerbeds at Queen's Park in Stratford, Ontario.

Flowers 2 Theme: Pic #6
The flowers in a surprise remembering-your-birthday bouquet, designed by a good friend of mine, lasted for almost three weeks. Since I took a picture of them to send with my thank-you note to her, I can look back now and enjoy the bouquet again and again. (Thanks for the on-going pleasure, Cor!)
