An inviting, leisurely path led down into the quarry as part of the trail system on Mt. Nemo. I loved the white, white birches and the nostalgia they delivered. White and yellow birch trees were very much a part of my childhood landscape as I grew up in the northwoods of Wisconsin.
There is something achingly beautiful about this picture. It pulls the selfom-seen melochololy out of my usually sanguine self. The birch is so beautiful. Maybe this is longing for heaven.
