Evidently a seed from a spent bleeding heart bloom this spring lodged in the flower bed not far from the parent bush. It took root, soaked up enough water and nutrients from the soil in spite of very warm and dry stretches of summer, and sent forth instructions to bloom where it was planted and when: mid-Sept. This throwback to spring makes me smile.
