Baking Theme: Pic #3


Two stromboli loaves, one with pizza ingredients and one with deli meat and cheese, made a lovely contribution to this year's Valentine's supper menu. Stromboli, as a meat-filled baked sandwich, was first made in the US, in an Italian restaurant near Philadelphia in 1950. It was named after a then recently-released film called Stromboli, which depicted life on a volcanic Italian island named Stromboli.
